They sit on a backland site on a road formerly dominated by commercial buildings, now long gone. Screening them from the road is a old pub which we have already converted into residential use. Nevertheless, the planners wanted a low key, polite design that wouldn’t scare the locals, so that’s what they got.

The developer / builder is great client with a deep understanding of the game. These houses were hard won at planning, but will be worth the perseverance. They are small but perfectly formed, with decent materials and crisp detailing which will stand the test of time. This is a site whose value has been well and truly maximised.
