Sustainability has to be at the heart of everything we do, and our buildings have a large part to play in reducing our footprint. Sustainable solutions need to be become the norm, completely integrated into our lifestyle and built environment. We already have a variety of solutions available to us, including many which can complement our aesthetic aspirations.
This new build timber framed home was largely fabricated offsite under factory conditions. This minimises waste and improves tolerances, enabling us to achieve tremendous improvements in airtightness and thermal performance. The house is heated by an air source heat pump and underfloor heating, assisted by photovoltaic solar panels and mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR).
Despite being technologically advanced and high performing, it sacrifices nothing on the looks front. Just goes to prove that you can have your cake and heat it.
