The proposed development infills the space between a row of terraced buildings and a set back row of semi-detached houses in Leyton, east London. The existing massing on the site consists of light curtain walls and roofs of a timber merchant’s yard.

The stepping in the street topography determined the layout and shape of this new development. Our proposed design joins the two existing rows of buildings; it consists of three main parts that step away from each other horizontally and vertically.

The proposed building contains 6 apartments with amenity spaces.

The contemporary appearance of the proposed building refers to the other recently constructed buildings in the area, while the materials remain sympathetic to the neighbouring buildings on either side.
